Summer List Update – 2014

Hiii! I hope you’re all well and enjoying your sum-sum-summah! Finally, I have found some time to update you on my summer to-do list (we’re halfway there people). I’m a tad sleepy this morning since my family and I went on a rafting trip in Paris, Ontario yesterday for 6 hours – twas a lovely time with great company and perfect weather. Without further ado, here is my update! JESSICA’S SUMMER GOALS 2014 – click HERE for full list. 2. Make an ultimate summer playlist. Pshhh, easy. Click HERE for playlist! 4. Volunteer. Packed lunches at the OXOMillionMeals event – one million meals for one million people across North America! I even ran into supermodels like Stacey McKenzie (she’s like, so gorg). 6. Join a fitness class. Since I’m training for my half-marathon in October, I’ve concluded THAT is my fitness class because..I make the rules here. Also, I want to thank everyone who has given me words of encouragement and helpful tips on how to properly prepare for it. 🙂 8. Participate in the “Color Me Rad” 5K …

MY SUMMER GOALS 2014!

My favourite day of the year is finally here…..THE DAY I POST MY LIST OF SUMMER GOALS! *insert happy dance* Yes spring has just begun, but summer for me starts in May and that is less than a month away. I’m BEYOND winter and cold weather (who in Toronto isn’t) and I’ve been patiently awaiting tan lines, flip flops and the smell of freshly cut grass. If you want to see my 2013 summer goals, click HERE! If you want to know why I epically failed at completing them, click HERE! THIS SUMMER I AM DETERMINED TO SCRATCH EVERYTHING OFF BY SEPTEMBER (I say this every year, but I promise I’ll actually do it). So my beautiful friends, stay tuned and let’s go on this little summer journey together, shall we? 🙂 JESSICA’S SUMMER GOALS 2014!  1. Go to an Asian grocery store and buy a cart full of unknown food, then haul it. 2. Make an ultimate summer playlist. 3. Watch an entire series of a TV show I’ve never seen before. 4. Volunteer. 5. Complete writing my …

Jessica’s Summer To-Do List 2013

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK, I look forward to this day all year! I have carefully compiled my list of 20 summer goals I must complete by the end of the summer! I typically complete the list, but last year I disappointed myself with being a few goals short. NOT THIS YEAR! I’ve made my list more realistic and hope you follow along on this lovely summer journey of mine. 🙂 Here was my list last year: https://jessicamoyblog.wordpress.com/2012/04/17/2170/   List will start first week of May and end first week of September! How I did on my summer list

I didn’t complete it. 😦 Tears are forming because it’s the last day of summer and I told myself to FINISH THIS LIST – but, as you can see, not all these goals are in bold. Such a disappointment. However, considering my unexpected full-time internship and part-time job in the beginning of the summer, I did a pretty good job! The bolded are complete… 1. Spend $50 on Summer apparel. Pshh, this was easy. 2. Buy fabrics and design a summer collection.  I re-arranged this one, but I crossed it off  because I DID make a shirt and some shorts, but unless I hired little sewers who can work from my room, I didn’t have the time to make more. 3. Attend a live-taping of the The Marilyn Denis Show. Meh, I’m not too sad this didn’t happen. I did see the studio this summer, can I count that?  4. Make a summer playlist. Will post playlist when made. This is practically the first thing I did once my final exam was over! 5. Go to …

Man, I love summer

Katie and I took a road trip to Cobourg Beach today! Magazines + watermelon + country music + gossip + sunshine = PERFECTION! As per usual, a wonderful day with the best friend! 🙂 We also saw Katy Perry: Part Of Me and…um…I’ve never cried in a movie theatre before – so why did it take the KATY PERRY movie to make me bawl?! I had pretty low expectations for the movie in general, but it was surprisingly WAY more entertaining and showed a side of Katy (as cliche as this sounds) I’ve never seen before. A vulnerable side. The part when she was about to go on stage and she started to break down because she was starting to miss Russell (who she probably hasn’t seen in weeks), so her friend handed her a necklace Russell gave her and she put it on.. ok that sounds lame, but if you’ve seen the movie, you’ll know how depressing that scene was. WAH, it makes me sad thinking about it. I’d be one of the first to admit – I’d see …

TOP 10 THINGS I LEARNED WHILE IN CUBA

1. Hot-cups on an airplane are always a good idea.  Especially when you look this good. 2. Aloe is your best friend. Or else… 3. Never leave valuables outside your hotel room.  Anything and everything you don’t keep your eye on, will get likely get stolen. This means not leaving your bathing suit outside to dry. Right Kyle? On a happier note, look how nice our room was! 4. Always leave tips for the maid. She may not leave you with clean sheets or towels but who can stay mad when she surprises you with an entire bottle of rum on your bed. 5. Never dance-dare a brides groom at a club. She and her mother will not like it. 6. Don’t eat the cheese. Unless you want a date with the toilet that night. This was the food I tried to stick with every day. Mmm, that mango was SO good! 7. Two extra-strong Gravols in the middle of the day are never a good idea.  No matter how sick you feel those pink little pills will …

Caught my first fish!

Another summer goal crossed off! 5. Go to Keswick and canoe/fish on the lake with my boyfriend.  The past two days my boyfriend and I ventured to Keswick to relax, hang out, and get away from our jobs to enjoy some summer to ourselves. During the day we mostly spent our time reading on his back porch (because we can be an elderly couple sometimes), barbecued some hamburgers, and watched more episodes of Gilmore Girls (currently on season 4, where Rory goes off to Yale). Before dinner, Kyle and I went to go sit by the lake. Pretty huh? It was a private area that was fenced off, but we hopped the fence anyway ’cause we’re reckless and young… obviously. While I was hopping over, trying to be some sort of “rebellious” teenager, a piece of the fence caught onto my jean pocket and ripped a small whole. Not the smartest idea I’ve ever had, but I think it adds character. In the evening, his mom would start cooking dinner where she would make the BEST steak and potatoes …

10 things I need to start doing

1. Drink a lot more water I drink at least 2 or 3 glasses a day, but I need to triple that! 2. Eat fruit and vegetable and natural foods I’m trying my best this summer to eat a little more healthily. For snacks instead of grabbing for chips or cookies, I go for cheese slices or carrots. But, sometimes I will cave in and eat an entire carton of ice cream. I need to stop doing that. 3. Read a book I want to read A LOT more but when I get home from work I crash and don’t want to do anything but sleep and veg. I do bring a book to work and read on my break, but I want to read more than just fifteen minutes a day. 4. Go to bed earlier 11:30pm is early for me, so around that time is usually my goal every night. 5. Do not judge or compare myself to others We all have this problem. 6. Do not pull things off Especially in the summer when I’m always feeling …

LET’S GO BLUE JAYS!

Another summer goal is officially crossed off! 7. Attend a Blue Jays game. Yesterday night I attended a Jays game with Kyle and his friends for his birthday! Lucky us, the Jays defeated the Orioles 8-6 – it was a close game near the end, but the boys pulled it off! I’m talking like I had any idea what was going on…I just cheered when everyone else did and yelled BLUUUUUUEEEE JAAAAAAYYSSS every 2 minutes. Jose Bautista! My friend Emily and I at the game…and her boyfriend Spencer in the background. Made some cupcakes for the birthday boy! 🙂 The most attractive photo of Kyle and I. Weekend’s coming up, what are you guys up to? 🙂 XO Jessica TWITTER: https://twitter.com/#!/Jessica_Moy

Patio livin’

Hey guys! Guess what? Another summer goal is officially crossed off! *happy dance* 21. Eat at a restaurant I’ve never been to before. MUST HAVE A PATIO! Em and I ate at Rex’s in Toronto where I had a burger and fries and Em had their salad. It was deeeeeelicious! I usually think mayo on a burger is a weird concept, but I thought I’d be adventurous and try it anyway and all I have to say is – WHERE HAS MAYO BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! Mmm. Honestly, what’s better on a summer day than a patio with perfect weather, great food, beer and a best friend! 🙂 How have you guys been enjoying your long weekend? I’ve been working a lot. I pass out every time I get in the door – yeeeshh. I do, however, have tomorrow off and plan on going to the zoo with Kyle. Day dates are the best dates! XO Jessica

My new shirt design…like?

STOP! Make sure to read my Fabricland adventure first! Click HERE! 🙂 FINALLY! I DID IT! I made a tank top I absolutely love! What do you guys think about the fabric? The cutting and sewing took a couple hours, but I wanted to make sure the design was beautiful to match the beautiful people I’ll be selling them to. What do you think? Something you’d be interested in buying? Price is being determined, but it won’t be more than $10. It’s a little sheer, so you definitely have to wear a cute bandeau/bra or tank-top underneath.
