SUMMER LIST 2019 | ACCOMPLISHED GOALS

Monday was the first day of fall. AKA I’m late on this post, I get it, I know. *eye roll* Every summer I set goals. I try to accomplish them but sometimes life gets in the way and you lose motivation so you end up just feeling like a huge failure but what else is new (LOL, my mental state right now like, am I ok???). In this case I didn’t complete 1.5 of the goals I set out for myself, which isn’t THAT bad. You can read my initial Summer List 2019 post here but don’t bother because they’re also listed below (I need to drop this attitude asap)*. ANYWAY, let’s see how I did… 1. Be able to do the splits. Not exactly. I took yoga classes for a month to start myself off and learned a bunch of great stretch moves to help me out so I’m half crossing this off. 2. Film an apartment tour. As of today it has 700+ views, baby! 3. Go rock climbing. Nope, didn’t have the time but …

Summer List Update – 2014

Hiii! I hope you’re all well and enjoying your sum-sum-summah! Finally, I have found some time to update you on my summer to-do list (we’re halfway there people). I’m a tad sleepy this morning since my family and I went on a rafting trip in Paris, Ontario yesterday for 6 hours – twas a lovely time with great company and perfect weather. Without further ado, here is my update! JESSICA’S SUMMER GOALS 2014 – click HERE for full list. 2. Make an ultimate summer playlist. Pshhh, easy. Click HERE for playlist! 4. Volunteer. Packed lunches at the OXOMillionMeals event – one million meals for one million people across North America! I even ran into supermodels like Stacey McKenzie (she’s like, so gorg). 6. Join a fitness class. Since I’m training for my half-marathon in October, I’ve concluded THAT is my fitness class because..I make the rules here. Also, I want to thank everyone who has given me words of encouragement and helpful tips on how to properly prepare for it. 🙂 8. Participate in the “Color Me Rad” 5K …

Final thoughts on summer (and summer list update)

Every summer, I have goals. I write them down in list form and every year I try to complete it. Some summers I am successful, other summers (like this one), I am not. Although, it’s not for a lack of trying. Life happens, you change, things come up, etc. The summer started out with reality slapping me right in the face. May was a month of heartbreak. However, after picking myself up and discovering a new found feeling of independence, it was time to focus on me. My summer list was out of the question. I had absolutely NO free time to do anything. I was on the go 24/7. June rolled around and I officially graduated! As much as I felt excited, I was extremely overwhelmed. New questions started to roll into my mind – what’s next for me? Where do I want to work? Where do I want to live? I’ve never put myself through this kind of stress. Hence, the shingles. Honestly, the shings were probably the best thing to happen to me that month. …

Summer 2013 Update: Part I

Guess who completed a couple summer goals in their first week. THIS GIRL! First goal crossed off was cleaning my room. It literally took me an entire day, but I had boxes and boxes of clothes, books and random childhood trinkets that I got rid of. I also got rid of the huge toy-box in my closet to make more room for my shoes. Weeeee! 🙂   Second goal I completed was my ultimate summer playlist (which can be seen by clicking HERE)! My favourite songs on the list are Could You Be Loved (You Never Know) by Audio Playground, Summer Young by Rascel Flatts and Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore! SUMMER 2013 GOAL!  1. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK, I look forward to this day all year! I have carefully compiled my list of 20 summer goals I must complete by the end of the summer! How I did on my summer list

I didn’t complete it. 😦 Tears are forming because it’s the last day of summer and I told myself to FINISH THIS LIST – but, as you can see, not all these goals are in bold. Such a disappointment. However, considering my unexpected full-time internship and part-time job in the beginning of the summer, I did a pretty good job! The bolded are complete… 1. Spend $50 on Summer apparel. Pshh, this was easy. 2. Buy fabrics and design a summer collection.  I re-arranged this one, but I crossed it off  because I DID make a shirt and some shorts, but unless I hired little sewers who can work from my room, I didn’t have the time to make more. 3. Attend a live-taping of the The Marilyn Denis Show. Meh, I’m not too sad this didn’t happen. I did see the studio this summer, can I count that?  4. Make a summer playlist. Will post playlist when made. This is practically the first thing I did once my final exam was over! 5. Go to …

ROOM. CLEANED.

It took me two full days but…MY ROOM IS FINALLY TIDY! FIRST SUMMER GOAL CROSSED OFF! YAHOO! 11. Completely clean my room, every nook and corner. Get rid of anything I do not use or wear. I didn’t realize how much GARBAGE, CLOTHES and PAPERS I had under my desk, in my closet, and under my bed. I had to use three full black garbage bags for my trash. Not to mention, boxes and boxes of clothes and toys i’m going to donate. It’s going to be a relief to wake up tomorrow to a nice, organized, well put together room! 🙂 BEFORE: YUCK! All the dust on my vanity desk. Not so cute. AFTER: Ahh, much better! How freaky is my McQueen book on the desk and in the mirror. Two different faces. Spooky. My closet was a WHOLE other room itself, but I cleared it out like a champ! No more losing perfumes (which was actually a problem). I found a bandana in my closet from when I was 10 or 11! I wore …
