Earlier this year I bought tickets to Ultra in Seoul, an EDM music festival that’s waaaaay out of my element. I’m not a rave-all-night type person, let alone having sweaty bodies push and shove me all night, but decided to give it a shot. I attended solo but if I learned anything from that day, it’s that music truly does bring people together. I met lovely ladies while in the entry line and we became instant friends, dancing all night to beats of Alesso, Pendulum, and Steve Angello. Don’t be afraid to tip-toe your way out of your comfort zone and try new experiences. This is a mantra I’ve had ever since I’ve moved to South Korea. I opened my mind to a new crowd, new music, new environment, and I’m so happy I did. Watch all the craziness go down in my Ultra Korea vlog below!
My hair is officially purple. It was a spontaneous decision that happened last week when my cousin Melissa asked, “can I dye your hair a funky colour?” No convincing was needed. #yolo See my hair and all its glory in my latest video on Get Up & Go Girl where I round up my beauty (skincare, skincare, skincare), fashion, travel, music, and movie favs from the month of January.
If I like a song, it will be played on repeat for weeks, or until I can’t stand it no longer. It’s one of the many reasons why I should never have a roommate.. These summer jams are all I have been listening to for the past week and thought I would share them with you! Let me know in the comments below what tunes you’ve been loving this summer, I need new songs to wear out. Who Do You Think Of? – M.O. Perfect Strangers – Jonas Blue feat J.P. Cooper Make Me -Britney Spears feat. G-Eazy Cruel – Snakehips feat. Zayn
I discovered Ruth B while I was working, listening to Spotify. In the middle of hearing her song “Golden” I stopped what I was doing and downloaded it immediately. Ruth is a 20-year-old up-and-coming superstar from Edmonton Alberta (yay Canadian girl!) and I am officially a fan. Her voice is so calm and relaxing, I think you’ll love her too. The fire that you tried to burn me with, it made me who I am All the things that you said I couldn’t do Guess what, Yes I can
Katie, Andrea, momma Moy and myself went to go see Taylor Swift in Toronto on October 3, 2015. We sang, we danced, we disrupted strangers who sat near us (they weren’t as fun as we were). Great night. Watch my concert vlog below!
Your love, I suppose, is an ocean the ebb and the flow, oh an undertow
The dream of becoming a K-pop star is still alive. It will happen, one day. Mr Chu – Apink
Ezra opened for Sam Smith, whom I saw in concert this week. Gotta admit, Ezra was my favourite part of the entire show, especially when he performed “Cassy O” which is permanently stuck in my head for the next month.
Have I mentioned I’m seeing my girl Taylor Swift in concert come October? I’ve only heard good things when it comes to her live performances and I’m SUPER excited to shake it off with my best friend Katie (whom I surprised with tickets for her Christmas/birthday present). Taylor recently tweeted about the mash-up below and now it’s gone viral! As it should, it’s a good one. Plus, it combines my two favourite songs on her 1989 album “Blank Space” and “Style,” although “New Romantics” and “Wonderland” are up there as well – they’re all just so catchy!
Despite the terrible graphics of this video, I thoroughly enjoy this song. Puts me in a good mood. Did you and Jupiter conspire to get me? I think you and the Moon and Neptune got it right ‘Cause now I’m shining bright, so bright
I’ve spent my life So lost on lovin’ I could have been a painter or a president But after 25 years I should be good at something Gone are the days of me being so reticent
Nothing gives easy Easy gives nothing
