Summer 2013 Update: Part I

Guess who completed a couple summer goals in their first week. THIS GIRL! First goal crossed off was cleaning my room. It literally took me an entire day, but I had boxes and boxes of clothes, books and random childhood trinkets that I got rid of. I also got rid of the huge toy-box in my closet to make more room for my shoes. Weeeee! 🙂   Second goal I completed was my ultimate summer playlist (which can be seen by clicking HERE)! My favourite songs on the list are Could You Be Loved (You Never Know) by Audio Playground, Summer Young by Rascel Flatts and Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore! SUMMER 2013 GOAL!  1. Join a pilates class. 2. Make an ultimate summer playlist. 3.  Go to Wonderland and ride The Leviathan. 4. Completely clean my room and throw away/sell ANYTHING I do not need/wear/use. 5. Go on a picnic, basket and plaid blanket included. 6. Attend a drive-in. 7. Go to British Colombia and visit my friend. Must go surfing and whale watching. 8. Must visit the following restaurants: – BOOM …

I don’t believe in failure…

“I don’t believe in failure. Because simply by saying you’ve failed, you’ve admitted you attempted. And anyone who attempts is not a failure. Those who truly fail in my eyes are the ones who never try at all. The ones who sit on the couch and whine and moan and wait for the world to change for them.” – Sarah Dessen

Baked Zucchini Sticks, Library Books and Country Music

Hello friends, I had the most productive Saturday! My friend Kristin came over and we baked breaded zucchini sticks with homemade sweet onion dip, recipe found by clicking HERE! Note: cut the zucchini’s thicker than shown, they will have more of a crunch and flavour! Also, we went to the library to pick out every country C-D they had and yes, we actually took out C-D’s from the library. Who goes to the library anymore? We do and we love it. I also picked up some books for when I take my long train rides to work. I’m the kind of person who judges a book by its cover, so they’re all girly and probably meant for 14 year olds. Just so you know, I’m hoping every Sunday I can update you on my week, like a five-minute life re-cap! I will set my timer and write for five minutes straight and let you know how my week has been! I’m about four minutes in now, so I have to wrap this up. This week is my last week …

The 10 Most Popular Honeymoon Destinations For Canadians

Wondering where most Canadian couples head for their honeymoons? According to our most recent reader survey, there are 10 honeymoon destinations clearly on the rise: The Bahamas, Bermuda, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico and The United States. A whopping 74 percent of brides surveyed told us that they are considering a honeymoon outside of Canada. It’s no surprise that the Caribbean leads the way as the most popular honeymoon region amongst Canadian couples–especially with its gorgeous beaches, clear blue waters and its close proximity to the eastern part of the country. Bridesmaid Dresses Under $100: Yes They DO Exist!

Here at Weddingbells, we don’t think it’s necessary for a bridesmaid to break the bank to find a pretty dress. There are plenty of affordable wedding-appropriate ensembles out there that can make a girl feel like a million bucks for under $100! A great way to begin the search for an affordable bridesmaid dress is to apply the “keep it simple” rule. For example: choose a basic style over a more intricate creation. Basic dresses are typically more budget-friendly than those with a variety of detailed embellishments. To make a simple dress stand out, add a colourful shoe or accessorize with a statement necklace or stack of bracelets. This will not only look beautiful, but will add a personalized touch to the outfit. Click HERE for the full article!

Athletic Banquet 2013

It feels bittersweet to have attended my final UTSC Athletic Banquet. I’ve learned so much from my coaches and teammates over the past four years and I’m sad I’ll never lace up my skates or ride those big yellow buses to games anymore. Thanks to everyone who made my UTSC athletic experience unforgettable. To my soccer girls, you were the first team I’ve joined at UTSC and I’m SO glad I did. I’m proud to have played on a team that stopped at nothing to win a championship. You girls are passionate and energetic and it makes me proud to have played with you all (alumni included). Keep rookie night alive and keep beating UTM. To my hockey girls, thank you for all the hilarious locker room talks and eventful late night practices. We may have not won a season or a tournament, but we had the tenacity every team who played us envied. Never give up! To my hockey guys, you’re all goons. Thank you for understanding that I need to blast and dance to Keith Urban …

What’s in your bag, OscarPG girl?

My friend Steph (photo intern for FASHION Magazine) met OscarPR girl and got to rummage through her purse and take photos! Her photos ended up all over Twitter and even Oscar De La Renta’s Facebook page. That’s HUGE for an intern! I’m jealous and proud at the same time. 🙂 Check it out by clicking HERE!
