Christmas isn’t a big deal on this side of the world, it’s another Valentine’s Day for couples to hold hands, take pictures with pretty lights, and have a quarrel by 8PM. You’re not in an official relationship in Korea until one of you storms off in rage in public. Sighhh, I love witnessing real life K-dramas. It also doesn’t snow in Busan so it hardly feels like the festive season. But even when the weather does get below zero, I still order vanilla milkshakes (I can’t be the only one!) because how could you say no when it comes with a topping of caramel corn! There have been a couple frigid days in the city, but that’s just a valid excuse to eat a copious amount of hot noodle soups. Whether it’s ramen, pho, or a kimchi jjigae, noodles are my ultimate comfort food. My favourite kind of noods are the ones sold in the alley ways of Nampo. Oh sun, how I’ve missed you. As of late the weather in Busan has been glorious. I have been out of the house a whole lot and recently went on a solo hike at Oryukdo. The entire walk was B-E-A-U-tiful! The coast stretches on for almost 4 km and the scenic views make you stop every few steps to take in the the sight of the endless sea.The day after my hike, I went for a stroll around Bosu-Dong Book Alley. I always love coming down here to browse through the thousands of books, some you can find in English if you look close enough. I took a pit-stop at a cafe at the end of the alley and had something called “Wedding Tea” which was caramel flavoured, and it was scrumptious.As I was sitting at the cafe, I was browsing on my phone to see what was around the area. Hello friends, I can’t believe it’s the end of March! This month flew by! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated you on my life so grab a snack and let’s get right into it. My new dentist and I are BFF’s, I’ve seen the man four times this month. The first visit was meant to be a check up but, that turned into an immediate procedure because I had an infected cavity. I was drugged during the appointment, which made the journey home challenging, especially because I got on the wrong bus but felt too drowsy to get off and figure it out. At least the view at the end of the line was nice. I eventually made my way home three hours later, and if the day wasn’t long enough I stepped off of the bus, tripped, and smacked my face on the cement. I was still numb from my procedure so it didn’t hurt too much, but safe to say I stayed in for the rest of the night. Second visit to the dentist was so my …

BORYEONG MUD FESTIVAL

A couple weekends ago I attended the staple festival for every foreigner who comes to South Korea, the Boryeong Mud Festival. I went with the tour group Enjoy Korea and they set up transportation, accommodation, and tickets into the festival. It was an organized weekend which I appreciated and they stationed a mini bar/food stand right beside our pensions so there was a place for everyone to gather at night. I hate to say it but the mud festival itself was a bit of a dud. There were mud wrestling stations and inflatable slides but the “mud” was literally dirty water on the pavement that people rolled around in. I spent an hour at the festival, got bored of it all so I cleaned off at the beach and hung out with new friends from Daegu. As night fell we gathered on the beach and watched PSY live in concert!!! YES!!! THE MAN WHO SINGS GANGNAM STYLE!!! IN FRONT OF OUR EYES!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!! That was by far the best part of the trip. The beach …
