I’M OFFICIALLY 28 – HERE’S EVERYTHING I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS YEAR

It’s six days past my birthday (whoops) but I have to admit, turning 28 was the absolute BEST! Here are a few reasons why my b-day was incredible: It was on a Saturday which means I got to sleep in! When I woke up my mom made a cute little breakfast and even put a candle in my eggs (lol, it’s the little things). I hosted my first Get Up & Go Girl workshop which was such a dream come true. I bid on my first place in Toronto! I lost, but still, it was my first one and I’m moving in the right direction of finding my home. Went out to dinner with my best friends and then to a couple fun bars afterwards. My cousin Melissa baked me raspberry chocolate cupcakes and they were DIVINE! 💋😏 (hehe). As you know, I had goals I wanted to accomplish for my 27th year of life. Let’s see how I did.. 1. Start a career in a creative field I have the best job at rock-it promotions. So …

I’M OFFICIALLY 27 – HERE’S EVERYTHING I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS YEAR

If you couldn’t already tell from the title.. IT’S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY! This year, I’m surprisingly less excited to celebrate. I know, who am I anymore?! And I can’t pin-point a reason why I’m feeling subdued. Perhaps I’m still jet-lagged from my recent trip back home to Canada and reaction time has been delayed. Or, it’s because I’ve discovered more than one grey hair on my head and it feels like my youth has officially ended. Mmmk but serious question, if I pluck a grey hair out, do more grow in? Or, is that a myth? Please advise. ANYWAY! I came into the world 27 years ago (holy shit I’m almost 30!), and if you remember from last year, here were the goals I wanted to achieve at 26. Let’s see how I did: 1. Write a book. This didn’t happen because it’s still not the time. As much as I want to sit down and commit to my writing, I’m constantly sidetracked with other projects. One day I will write a goddamn book but (again..) this wasn’t …

I’M OFFICIALLY 26 – HERE’S EVERYTHING I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS YEAR

I’ve always thought the age gap between 25 to 26 to be significant. It may be only a year but somehow in my mind we go from kinda-still-a-child-type-of-adult to ADULT-ADULT! Then I realized, it’s science! Your brain (for the most part) becomes fully developed and mature by the age of 26. You begin to feel less sensitive and have a much easier time handling peer pressure.. apparently. These facts are coming from someone who dropped all science classes by grade 12 so, take what I just said with a grain of salt. Last year I wrote goals I wanted to achieve at the age of 25, here is how I did: 1. I WILL leave my comfort zone. 2. I WILL start living a life that make ME happy, not one that will please someone else. 3. I WILL be more independent. 4. I WILL learn a new language. 5. I WILL start building my empire (LOL.. the time has come) I did something a little differently this year and decided to chat about my accomplished goals on Get Up & Go Girl, as well a NEW goals I want to achieve at 26! Speaking of …

I’M OFFICIALLY 25 – HERE’S EVERYTHING I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS YEAR

I’ve made it to a quarter of a century. I can now legally rent a car. However, I am no longer eligible to pay VIA rail youth rates. But, who needs youth rates when I can rent a Mercedes, AMIRITE?! Why this is the first thing I’m bringing up on my 25th birthday, I have no idea.. Moving right along, the below are goals I set for myself on my last birthday (aka, all I wanted to accomplish at 24), here is how I did: 1. I WILL become more confident. This was a rocky road but, I whole heartily believe I am far more confident than I was a year ago. I have more to learn about confidence (obvs) but I notice my head is held higher and I listen/trust myself with less second guessing. Confidence is not about being center of attention or being extremely extroverted, which a lot of people mistake is the definition. Confidence is believing in yourself, thinking positive thoughts and trusting your decisions. When someone says, “you need more confidence,” it’s gut-wrenching to hear. …

RUNNING THROUGH THE SIX

For your Sunday evening entertainment: Melissa and I shop at INLAND, Kathleen and I help throw an event for NYX cosmetics & I celebrate my 25th birthday with Emily, Katie, Ashley & Nicole. Also, I’M ON TV! Or, was on TV. I chat with Channel 12 news about the All Abilities soccer program and the importance of volunteering! Forward to 1:47 and ignore the hideous thumbnail.

I’m OFFICIALLY 24 – here’s everything I want to accomplish this year

If you remember, last year I set goals of everything I wanted to achieve at 23. This is how I did: 1. I WILL move to New York City. Williamsburg, Brooklyn preferably. …It’s actually laughable at how impossible this was yet, I still thought it was achievable. First step: Need to marry super handsome and successful American man (flexible on the handsome). 2. I WILL get my first full-time PAID job. …Couldn’t be happier or more proud. 3. I WILL eat healthier. …I started taking vitamins, cut down on alcohol consumption and learned to make delicious, nutritious meals. Pat on the back for me. 4. I WILL admit and apologize when I’m wrong. …I’m getting better. I’ll roll my eyes when apologizing, but I’m apologizing nonetheless. Take what you can get. 5. I WILL (not only) shake-hands with new people I meet, but genuinely try to get to know them. I want to ask as many people who influence me to give me a list of their favourite books, songs and movies so I can introduce myself to new …

I’m OFFICIALLY 23 – here’s everything I want to accomplish this year

MY BIRTHDAY (which was on Oct. 13) WAS AMAZING!  Here are 5 goals I WILL achieve while I am 23! (I say “WILL” with confidence because when I have my mind set on something, I’ll stop at nothing until I achieve it.) 1. I WILL move to New York City. Williamsburg Brooklyn preferably. 2. I WILL get my first full-time PAID job. 3. I WILL eat healthier. 4. I WILL admit and apologize when I’m wrong. 5. I WILL (not only) shake-hands with new people I meet, but genuinely try to get to know them. I want to ask as many people who influence me to give me a list of their favourite books, songs and movies so I can introduce myself to new ways of thinking and get to know the people I love a little more. If you’re interested, here is my list. – Favourite book: “Fifth Step” by Richard Van Camp (which is actually a short story in his book “Angel Wing Splash Pattern”). – Favourite song: “Say” by John Mayer – Favourite movie: …

I’m twenty two today

I’m having the best birthday so far! My boyfriend got Cirque Du Soleil tickets for us last night (amazing) and he got me a purse from Guess that I’ve been drooling over for months. My mom is currently making my friends and I homemade lasagna (yum) and we’re all going to hang out and have a good time tonight. I’m such a spoiled, lucky girl today! 🙂 I can’t wait to see what I’m going to do when I’m twenty two (that rhymed). Apparently it’s one of the best years of your life! Big decisions, beginning of a career, new relationships, friends, adventures, graduation – I have a lot to look forward to at this age and I can’t wait to share them with you all! 🙂 XO Jessica

LET’S GO BLUE JAYS!

Another summer goal is officially crossed off! 7. Attend a Blue Jays game. Yesterday night I attended a Jays game with Kyle and his friends for his birthday! Lucky us, the Jays defeated the Orioles 8-6 – it was a close game near the end, but the boys pulled it off! I’m talking like I had any idea what was going on…I just cheered when everyone else did and yelled BLUUUUUUEEEE JAAAAAAYYSSS every 2 minutes. Jose Bautista! My friend Emily and I at the game…and her boyfriend Spencer in the background. Made some cupcakes for the birthday boy! 🙂 The most attractive photo of Kyle and I. Weekend’s coming up, what are you guys up to? 🙂 XO Jessica TWITTER: https://twitter.com/#!/Jessica_Moy
