My scents – listed best to worst

1. YSL Manifesto – Anyone with good taste who walks by you will wonder what magical scent you’re wearing. It lasts all day (especially in your hair) and once you smell it, you will buy it. It combines two of my favourite smells: vanilla and jasmine. Mmm. Can we also acknowledge how luxurious this bottle looks? Fantastic. 2. CK One Shock – This is definitely a playful day scent. It’s subtle and sweet with my favourite scents (again): vanilla and jasmine, only this one has sweeter notes like passion fruit and blackberry. 3. Victoria’s Secret Amber Romance – Throughout university, this is what I sprayed on myself before I walked out the door. People who sat beside me always told me I smelt great. Creepy, but was still flattered. It’s a subtle smell of vanilla but has a bit of spice which gives it punch. 4. Express Glam – A fresh, flower-type scent with vanilla and blackberry (can you tell I like the same kind of scents). I’ll wear this if I am going out …

DIY: Vanilla & Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

With winter weather slowly creeping upon us *shudder* prepare your lips with a homemade scrub! Perfect to apply before you swipe on your lipstick to get rid of any dry flakes. Add brown sugar, honey, a drop of vanilla and olive oil into a container and stir. VOILA! All natural and it REALLY works (even better than the $10 LUSH products).  Apply to your lips and rub for 15 seconds. Afterwards, wipe off with water and apply your favourite lip balm. Result: smooooooth lips that smell delicious! 🙂

How to master Taylor Swift’s long-lasting red lip

Red has been the colour of the year for Taylor Swift. Her latest album, Red, has been wildly successful, her global tour of the same name has sold out at every stop and the single, “Red” was a catchy summer hit. But then there’s the other red in Swift’s life: her signature red lip. The shade practically defines her pop star identity and not since Tragic Kingdom-era Gwen Stefani has a lip colour inspired a generation of beauty junkies. Whether she’s singing her heartbreak anthems, posing on the red carpet or flipping her hair back and fourth, her lipstick never seems to budge. What’s her secret? To get Taylor Swift’s flawless red lip look, we spoke with M.A.C Cosmetics senior artistMelissa Gibson. She gave us the inside scoop on how to get the perfect, long-lasting red lip. From preventing your lips from drying out to choosing the right colour, here’s how to get Taylor Swift’s look. One: Pick a shade based on the attitude that you want to portray. A strong, bold red, such as M.A.C “Ruby Woo” ($18, maccosmetics.com), will …

Dare me?

I want to dye my hair blonde. I have no idea how it will look or if I would like it, but it’s something I need to do while I’m young. You have to experiment while you can get away with it! Am I right? I also need to know if blondes REALLY do have more fun… Any of you recommend hair colour treatments I could do at home? Or, do you have any thoughts on what you’d think I’d look like as a blonde? Just think, I can toooootally be the next Soo Joo Park.

How to do Cara Delevingne’s bold and beautiful eyebrows

Cara Delevigne is having a moment. She’s one of the most popular models in the industry, her face everywhere—from Burberry billboards to Vogue UK covers—and did we mention she spends her free time hanging out with royals? While we don’t want to reduce her appeal down to one single aspect, it’s impossible to mention Cara without talking about her prominent eyebrows. Bushy, bold and totally becoming, Cara Delevinge’s eyebrows make us never want to touch tweezers ever again. However, that’s not all it takes to achieve her iconic look. We spoke withTweezerman brow expert Mary Dhang about Cara Delevinge’s eyebrows and she shared the steps to achieving this luscious look. Runway-worthy brows for all! One: Let your eyebrows grow in as big as possible. (This may take a few weeks, so be patient!) Tip: Use castor oil or RapidLash ($50, rapidlash.com) to speed up the growth process. Better bronzing: 5 organic and natural self-tanners that make getting a glow even safer

Normally we would have blown through at least a few bottles of sunscreen by now, but with the constant rain and cloudiness this summer, we’ve been reaching for the self-tanner instead. Even if we aren’t busting out a bikini every weekend, we still want our limbs looking bronzed and healthy. There is quite the range of self tanner options available that offer different finishes depending on your skin tone and the level of bronze you’re looking for. But what we’re fixated on right now is growing number of natural and organic tanners geared toward those of us who want to green our beauty routine. While faux glow and all-natural products may not seem like the most obvious pairing, it’s one that makes sense. After all, if you’re avoiding damage from the sun, it’s just as important to avoid the harmful chemicals and additives that many self-tanners can contain. But before we share our paraben- and silicone-free picks, some self-tanning 101: don’t forget to exfoliate. We can’t stress enough how important it is to polish your …

Weddingbells Fall/Winter ’13 & FASHION August ’13

There’s no other feeling like seeing your work and name published inside a magazine. Weddingbells F/W ’13 issue came out this month and I can’t believe how amazing it turned out! Not that I’m surprised, the team was awesome to work with and they’re all super talented. I worked on two photoshoots as a style assistant (and drooled over all the pretty dresses), wrote a national wedding and various other real weddings – all published in this issue! It’s so, so beautiful. I seriously almost cried of happiness. You should pick up a copy, it’s 422 pages of magic. FASHION August ’13 issue with Demi Lovato also came out this month. I truly hope that feeling of accomplishment and seeing my name published never gets old.
