Weddingbells Fall/Winter ’13 & FASHION August ’13

There’s no other feeling like seeing your work and name published inside a magazine. Weddingbells F/W ’13 issue came out this month and I can’t believe how amazing it turned out! Not that I’m surprised, the team was awesome to work with and they’re all super talented. I worked on two photoshoots as a style assistant (and drooled over all the pretty dresses), wrote a national wedding and various other real weddings – all published in this issue! It’s so, so beautiful. I seriously almost cried of happiness. You should pick up a copy, it’s 422 pages of magic. FASHION August ’13 issue with Demi Lovato also came out this month. I truly hope that feeling of accomplishment and seeing my name published never gets old.

MY FIRST BACKSTAGE BEAUTY STORY IS PUBLISHED! 🙂 “A sense of tribal,” is how Stephen Wong—one half of the Greta Constantinedesign duo—described the beauty look for the label’s Fall 2013 collection. When presenting the looks last night, models were turned into fierce warriors, goddesses and Amazonians with textured hair, smoky eyes and geometric, neutral nails. “We took our cues from Oribe [Canales], a hairstylist who did all the supermodels in the ’90s,” Wong says. “I remember looking at the shows he’d do and thinking the hair was amazing. It had a sense of tribal, but very cool and modern feel to it.” Sebastian core stylist Daniel Di Tommaso was the lead for the three different hairstyles, inspired by three variations of tribal. “All three hair looks were tight on the sides but textured on top to blend all the girls together.” Read the full story by clicking here: FASHION MAGAZINE

Today I went to my first beauty event for FASHION Magazine! I met with celebrity tanning expert (yes, that’s a title) Fiona Locke, who spoke with me about the amazing St. Tropez self-tanning lotions and sprays! Chatting with Fiona was amazing, she’s such a sweetheart! Her skin was flawless (obviously) and answered all my questions with enthusiasm and passion. Her most fascinating self-tanning tip: If you have acne on your body or face, use concealer on these areas before applying the tanning sprays. It will create a barrier and won’t irritate the skin further. You’ve either been a loyal consumer to these products for years or you’re just discovering them now because once you go St. Tropez, you truly never go back. Along with a free pedicure from AXI the Spa on Yorkville, I also got to try out the St. Tropez exfoliator and tanning mousse. The products are easy to apply, smell good and does the job (exactly what everyone looks for in self-tanners). The beautician was even telling me that dozens of men come in specifically for St. Tropez spray …
