MY FIRST BACKSTAGE BEAUTY STORY IS PUBLISHED! 🙂 “A sense of tribal,” is how Stephen Wong—one half of the Greta Constantinedesign duo—described the beauty look for the label’s Fall 2013 collection. When presenting the looks last night, models were turned into fierce warriors, goddesses and Amazonians with textured hair, smoky eyes and geometric, neutral nails. “We took our cues from Oribe [Canales], a hairstylist who did all the supermodels in the ’90s,” Wong says. “I remember looking at the shows he’d do and thinking the hair was amazing. It had a sense of tribal, but very cool and modern feel to it.” Sebastian core stylist Daniel Di Tommaso was the lead for the three different hairstyles, inspired by three variations of tribal. “All three hair looks were tight on the sides but textured on top to blend all the girls together.” Read the full story by clicking here: FASHION MAGAZINE
Today I went to my first beauty event for FASHION Magazine! I met with celebrity tanning expert (yes, that’s a title) Fiona Locke, who spoke with me about the amazing St. Tropez self-tanning lotions and sprays! Chatting with Fiona was amazing, she’s such a sweetheart! Her skin was flawless (obviously) and answered all my questions with enthusiasm and passion. Her most fascinating self-tanning tip: If you have acne on your body or face, use concealer on these areas before applying the tanning sprays. It will create a barrier and won’t irritate the skin further. You’ve either been a loyal consumer to these products for years or you’re just discovering them now because once you go St. Tropez, you truly never go back. Along with a free pedicure from AXI the Spa on Yorkville, I also got to try out the St. Tropez exfoliator and tanning mousse. The products are easy to apply, smell good and does the job (exactly what everyone looks for in self-tanners). The beautician was even telling me that dozens of men come in specifically for St. Tropez spray …
I received this product from Cake Beauty a few weeks ago and I am here to force you to go out and purchase this holy grail hand and cuticle buffer. Why? Because it literally smells like a piece of cake and MY HANDS HAVE NEVER FELT SOFTER! You take a spoonful out of the jar, rub the products on your cuticles and hands over the sink for 30 seconds and rinse to experience the softest hands ever in the history of everdom. I’m pretty sure I held my own hand for an hour they were THAT soft. I’ve never heard of Cake Beauty but boy-o-boy, I am hopping on the bandwagon because I’m a huge fan! I believe the buffer is around $20? Check out more of their scrubs by clicking HERE! I highly, highly recommend you trying this product, I guarantee you will not be disappointed! I’m definitely going to experiment with more of Cake Beauty products because I am so impressed with their quality and cute packaging! Bonus: Cake Beauty is a Canadian company! So. Good.
I’m a sucker for cute packaging. If the product either has glitter, any shade of pink, a skull or a bow – I have to have it (even if the product itself is horrendous). You can tell these hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works sucked me right in. How could I resist with the adorable size and colours, PLUS they smell exactly how they are labelled. Not sure sure if they properly sanitize my hands. I haven’t been sick this year yet (knock on wood), so I’m going to say the ingredient of “Tahitian Palm Milk” is the steller bacteria killer. These sanitizers come in hundreds of varieties and retail at about $1.75 each (or sometimes they have a special where you can get 5 for $5)! Here are my top four favourite hand sanitizer scents! 1. Creamy Pumpkin: I was born in October, so I feel like I’m naturally attracted to love fall scents. Pumpkin is my all-time favourite smell (aside from vanilla and coconut), so I keep this with me on-the-go at all times. 2. Vanilla Cupcake: I actually …

I know what I’m going to put on my christmas list! If you can’t afford the original Warhol artwork (which can go for $2,000,000), then you can take home the masterpiece that is the newest collection by NARS! How adorable are all these colours?! The eyeshadow palettes are just so pretty, I don’t know if I’d ever want to use them! Part of The Pop Art Line – Debbie Harry cheek and eye palette – $65 Kiss Mini Larger Than Life Lip Gloss Coffret – $55 for all of them together Andy Warhol x NARS Holiday Polish Set – $18 each I want the nail polish from the collection the most! The dark forest green in the middle is a beauty! What do you guys think? It’s a little pricey (but…have you seen these colours?). Is is justifiable since the collection is only a limited time only? Let me know in the comments below! 🙂 XO Jessica
Hey all! I went to the BEST hair salon today in my hometown. My hairdresser and I had this 30 minute heart-to-heart on how I should travel when I’m young and experience all the culture I can before I start my career, get married, or have kids. He was from Cuba and said he went to school for business because his parents forced him to. Then, when he graduated, he handed them his diploma and said, “now I’m going to do what I want to do.” He travelled all over the world, cutting and styling hair – perfecting his trade. He finally came to Canada (not knowing a word of English) and started his own business. Now he’s incredibly happy and loves what he does and the people he works with. What an inspiration. He told me about his adventures of spending an entire year in Paris, a year in Spain, and…practically every where else. He’s been everywhere in the world EXCEPT Asia, and is forcing me to go to “live it up for the both of …
Yay for big hair! Should I do a how-to video? Hmm…
These aren’t the best quality photos, but they’re the best I can find! It’s me wearing a MASSIVE wig at the Toronto ABA hair show (people surprisingly thought this was my real hair). The man in the back is hair stylist Jake Thompson, an award winning avant garde hair stylist who cut the wig on stage. Such an amazing talent! What do you guys think?
