Everyone loves a good stud – D.I.Y

I did it. I went stud crazy. Pants, shoes, shorts…you name it, I put a stud on it. They’re easy to put on, you pin them – no need for glue or sewing. They’re cheap, any fabric store you can get 100 studs for $20. Compared to the $75 pair of studded shorts you can get at Urban Outfitters, it’s a pretty good deal. These are an old pair of J. Crew skinny’s! I put the studs right above the pocket to spruce up the look! Put a couple of them on ankle booties, definitely a big change! No longer plain and drab! My favourite! Right on the back pocket! Side note, it doesn’t hurt when I sit. What do you guys think? A timeless fall trend if you ask me. XO Jessica

TURNING OLD JEANS INTO TRENDY SHORTS

Take an old pair of wide legged jeans. Don’t use skinny jeans, they make it look like you’re wearing spandex. Cut your desired length. Make sure you go diagonal, like below! Grab some paint! I’m using colours such as blue, black, white, red, and purple! Start going to town! Smudge the paint EVERYWHERE. Mixing the colours together is ideal. Make sure you get the back! I distressed mine at the front. Make sure you have cardboard or a magazine underneath so you don’t put holes on the other side of the shorts. After that, you’re done! 🙂

Garage sale finds – shelf, jewelry, handbag

First thing you need to know. My mom is a SERIOUS garage saler. She gets up almost every Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. to LEAVE by 8:00 a.m. to get the great deals around the area. She always seems to find the best bargins (today she bought a digital camcorder for $10), not to mention somehow knows everyone she talks to! I went with her today and found some great treasures of my own! 🙂 Mini silver shelf – $3 Thought this could be a great add to my room. It can neatly hold all my lotions, sprays, and nail polishes. Yay to organization! Bonus – IT HAS WHEELS! Flower stud earrings – $1 for both I’m in love. How can you not be in love with these? They’re adorable! Silver stacked ring and gold bracelet – $5 for both Every garage sale, I go STRAIGHT toward the jewelry! These items and the earrings above are the reason why. Wicked the novel – $ 1 Read the prologue thus far and it’s already wickedly awesome…haha…ha. Love Wizard of …

Best uniforms at the 2012 London Olympic Games

Canada – Hudson’s Bay Company  Kept very simple. Love the zip-up sweaters, but not so hot on the beige khakis. However, the entirety of the uniform still works because I’m biased and love Canada and all our athletes – they can be dressed in garbage bags and I’d still love ’em. Great Britain – Stella McCartney  Keeping it classy in black. Love it. USA – Ralph Lauren This honestly can’t get any more American. From their military inspired hats to their Ralph Lauren logo on their jackets. All they need is a piece of apple pie in their hand and they’re good to go. Australia – Sportscraft I really just like their white shoes with the black laces. South Korea – Fila AHOY MATEY! I love everything about their uniform. Clean-cut, sophisticated, and definitely trendy.

Top 5 favourite fashion designers

1. Alexander McQueen Creative director Sarah Burton has done a flawless job the past few years, always loved the creativity, innovation, and story-telling within the designs of McQueen. 2. Pink Tartan I’ve been to a couple of her shows at Toronto Fashion week and Kim Newport Mimran continutes to impress me. Classic with an interesting twist. 3. Christian Dior Without a doubt, no one can compare to a Dior gown. Absolutely stunning. 4. Erdem Moralioglu Dresses meant for a princess. Seriously, he dresses Kate Middleton. 5. Vera Wang Always had a thing for Vera, her designs continue to be inspiring. She’s also my future wedding dress designer.

This will be my child’s first toy…

One fierce pony. Actually, as freaky and weird as Karl looks as a “My Little Pony,” I’ll say I’m buying it for my child – but I’d keep it for myself. “My Little Karl, My Little Karllll….” You have to admit, these were the best commercials when you were little. Prepare to have the theme song stuck in your head all day. You’re welcome.

My new shirt design…like?

STOP! Make sure to read my Fabricland adventure first! Click HERE! 🙂 FINALLY! I DID IT! I made a tank top I absolutely love! What do you guys think about the fabric? The cutting and sewing took a couple hours, but I wanted to make sure the design was beautiful to match the beautiful people I’ll be selling them to. What do you think? Something you’d be interested in buying? Price is being determined, but it won’t be more than $10. It’s a little sheer, so you definitely have to wear a cute bandeau/bra or tank-top underneath. GO JENNA GO!

Jenna Talackova will be competing in the Miss Universe Canada Pageant next week. Her story is such an inspiration! I read Talackova, born male and from Vancouver, knew she was a female at the age of 4. She says she began hormone therapy at 14 and surgically changed her gender when she was 19. Now 23, she went through A LOT to get where she is today. She was initially disqualified from the Miss Universe Canada Pageant (taking place next week) because she wasn’t a “naturally born female.” Then pageant owner Donald Trump over-ruled and said she can participate. YAY! Fact: She has a boyfriend and didn’t tell him she was born a male when they first met. Props for her boyfriend for sticking with her, that’s a good man right there.
