I got my first tattoo last week.
WHAAAAAAATT?! JESSICA!!! YOU’RE CRAZY!!!!!
I know. It’s so unlike me to do something as spontaneous as permanently marking my body. But, it happened. EEEEEEEK!
Firstly, let’s talk about the lovely walk I took along the Jeoryong Coastal Trail on the island of Yongdo. I spent the afternoon strolling along the beautiful walkway, and loved the pop of artwork on the side of the tightly knit houses that can be found at the top of the multicoloured Piano Stairway (attached to the trail).
Coastal walks are seriously the best. You can aways count on a slight breeze from the ocean when you’re starting to get a little warm.. or just jump in the ocean to cool off, either works.
OK, NOW FOR THE REASON WHY YOU CLICKED ON THIS POST.
Tattooing is teeeeeeechnically illegal in South Korea if not done by a registered doctor. My tattoo artist K.J. at Fat Buddha Tattoo Parlour told me, “tattooing is as illegal in South Korea as weed is in Toronto, it’s not really enforced.” Even though, I believe marijuana is legal now in Toronto.. maybe?
I love my tattoo and I explain what it is, why I got it, and why I put it on the side of my torso in my vlog below!
The number one question I get is, “did it hurt?” Not really. I thought the pain would be worse but, it was actually quite manageable. The second most popular question, “does your mom know?” She was the first one I texted. 😉
